For
those of you seriously concerned about your CPU’s temperature and
fan noise, we can offer a CPU fan upgrade. This utilizes an
oversized fan and heat sink with a variable speed controller
designed to operate quieter and cooler. It is a fairly big job to
install these as the main-board needs to be removed from the case,
and we prefer to do this off-site.
Total
cost including pickup/delivery is just
$120
As a
bonus we can offer a PC Hardware Service (Service 1) at an
additional $40 saving you almost 50% when taken in conjunction with
the fan upgrade. Total
cost $160 including
GST

Upgrade Your
Computer
If you are happy with your existing hard
drive and CD drive, but are tired of having a slow old machine
I may have the answer for you...... I can supply a brand new
Tower with power supply, motherboard, AMD
3000 Processor and 512 Mb DDR ram. I am personally
using one of these systems, and have found it to be a nice and
stable machine. The cost is from $500 "changeover" which
includes installation of existing drives, pickup, delivery and setup
within the Cairns region.
Does your
computer seem to be running slow? Are you running out of space on
your hard drive? Instead of buying a new computer it is often
possible to gain new life from your current one. Your CPU, mainboard
(motherboard), RAM (memory), hard drive (storage) and other
components can be replaced to upgrade your existing system. Whether
you're looking to add RAM, a larger hard drive, or a CD Burner, I
can help you.
Repairs: Often computers will stop functioning
correctly for a number of reasons, whether from a software fault, a
virus, or a power surge from the mains or telephone line. At times it is not always
possible to carry out hardware repairs on site; however all machines
repaired by The PC Guys will be returned and
operating correctly in the customer’s home before any payment will
be required for labor.
Just as you would have your
car serviced, if you are hoping to maintain longevity and trouble
free computing, it is essential to do the same for your computer
system.
Most computers contain
several fans. These draw a constant flow of air through your
computers tower for the purpose of cooling the many internal
components. Computers operate far better if they maintain a lower
temperature inside the tower and we need to be aware of any problems
that may prevent this.
The biggest problem faced by
your computers cooling system is dust build-up. Dust presents a
serious risk to computers due to clogging air ducts, and by forming
an insulating presence around components causing them to heat up and
stay hot.
Another major consideration
is the condition of the fans. A fan that runs for hours and hours
will occasionally need cleaning and lubricating. Many systems use
relatively cheap fans and these also may need replacing
periodically.
Finally, because of the
extremely humid conditions we live in, dust can become conductive
(draws electricity) and if it coats delicate electronic components
it can cause them to malfunction intermittently or fail
altogether
You won't have to worry about picking up your
computer from the shop, only to find when you set it up at home the
problem wasn't fixed as you specified......Don't WASTE TIME
running around unnecessarily!!
